Set in 17th-century Europe during the Thirty Years' War, the Dutch dispatch reinforcements to the Holy Roman Empire, but nearly all of them flee. Among the handful who stay is a solitary Japanese fighter named Issak. He traveled from East Asia to pursue revenge against the man who murdered his teacher and stole something precious. Convinced his foe may have enlisted in one of the warring armies, Issak enters the conflict as a hired soldier, resolved to track down and kill his enemy.
