Throughout history, books have been revered for their ability to preserve knowledge, bridge generations, and spread ideas. To protect every form of written material, a guardian known as the Magus of the Library established the Central Library in Aftzaak, also called the City of Books. Theo Fumis, a young boy from the impoverished outskirts of the desert village Amun, has a deep love for reading. Unfortunately, individuals from the slums are forbidden from accessing the local library. Additionally, Theo faces constant bullying from other children due to his unusually long ears. With dreams of escaping his difficult circumstances, he aspires to reach Aftzaak someday. His mundane life takes an unexpected turn when elite librarians, known as the Kafna, arrive in Amun. Among them is Sedona Bleu, who shares her cherished book with Theo. Despite unforeseen circumstances preventing him from finishing the book before the Kafna depart, Sedona kindly extends his loan period. This act gives Theo further incentive to embark on a journey to the City of Books.
