Manshuu Ahen Squad

"In Manchuria, the cost of a human life is rock bottom." In 1937, Isamu Higata is deployed to the Japanese puppet state of Manchukuo to serve in its occupation forces. After losing the use of his right eye in combat, he is reassigned to an agricultural outpost where the officers subject him to relentless mistreatment. There, hidden in a dusty corner, he stumbles upon a field of poppies—the raw ingredient for opium. Desperate to fund his gravely ill mother's treatment, Isamu begins producing the illegal narcotic, a decision that sets his own future and the fate of all Manchuria on an unpredictable course.

Manshuu Ahen Squad has been published digitally in English as Manchuria Opium Squad by Kodansha through K Manga. The volumes have been published digitally by the same publisher since September 10, 2024. It has also been released in Italian by Dynit since February 17, 2023.
