In a world where great beasts and terrifying monsters roam, a more common threat is often ignored: the goblin. Though not as overtly dangerous as some larger nightmares, goblins are capable of their own grotesque acts of brutality, frequently banding together in large groups and spreading destruction. Enter the aptly named Goblin Slayer, whose sole purpose in life is to wreak havoc on goblins, killing as many as he possibly can. Using the realm's established mission system for adventurers, Goblin Slayer ensures he accepts every goblin-related quest. One of these missions brings him into contact with a young Priestess, whom he rescues from an attack by a particularly vicious group of goblins who have raped and slaughtered her entire party. Though initially averse to human connection, Goblin Slayer reluctantly finds himself developing an attachment to Priestess and the other party members they gain along the way. Often pulled into grand adventures that take him away from his goblin-murdering comfort zone, Goblin Slayer works to keep his party safe and gradually overcomes the childhood trauma that shaped him into the killing machine he has become.

Background

Goblin Slayer has been simulpub digitally in English by Yen Press on the same day as the Japanese release. The publisher has been physically releasing the series since December 19, 2017. It has also been published digitally in English by Square Enix through Manga UP!
