A demon is waiting in a mid-boss room for the hero to show up when, without warning, the memories of his past life come flooding back. He realizes that he is actually inside the RPG game he used to play, and that his previous life was that of an ordinary college student. Unwilling to accept his fate as a mid-boss who exists only to be defeated, he resolves to take down the boss and make his way out of the dungeon. In the process of doing so, a goddess charges him with a task: find the special "pearls" that are scattered all across the world.
