On a small, tranquil island, Shun Hashimoto—an aspiring novelist who has distanced himself from his family because of his sexuality—lives a somewhat directionless life under the blazing sun, with only the breathtaking ocean views to keep him company. His quiet routine shifts when he notices Mio Chibana, a recently orphaned boy, spending his days by the vast sea. Despite their differences, a connection gradually forms between them. But Mio must eventually leave for school in the city, promising to stay in touch and asking Shun to wait for his return. Years pass without any word from Mio, until he unexpectedly reappears, confessing his feelings for Shun—who, surprisingly, seems hesitant. What is the reason behind Shun’s reluctance?
