A massive cold wave arrives, causing catastrophic destruction and resetting the world. After waking up from a five-hundred-year-long artificial hibernation, Taro Maizuru comes to understand that he has lost everything he once had—his cherished family and his wealth alike. Clawing his way back from utter hopelessness while searching for an ideal life and a sense of purpose, he departs from the far-off land where he currently resides, setting his sights on returning to his home country, Japan.
