Ken Usato is an ordinary high school student with average grades, typical dreams, and a tendency to dislike people who are extraordinary. But when he runs into the student council president and vice president—both popular and exceptional—he quickly becomes friends with them. Their peaceful routine is interrupted when Usato's new friends are summoned to another world, and he gets dragged along by accident. With no way to go back home, he accepts staying quietly in this new world—until he discovers he has an affinity for healing magic, a very rare type of magic that gives him self-confidence and attracts the attention of all mages. However, not all attention is good, as Usato realizes when he catches the eye of a crazed fellow healing magic user.
