In a world where magic exists, witches wield spells of nearly invincible power, with only a few rare ways to reverse them: a true love's kiss from a prince, a sudden change of heart from the witch herself, or another obscure method. Guideau and Ashaf form an unconventional team for the Order of Magical Resonance, an agency tasked with handling all magic-related incidents. Guideau, a spirited young woman with eyes like a beast and a tendency to rush into situations, holds a deep personal grudge against witches. Ashaf, a composed and enigmatic man carrying a coffin on his back, balances his impulsive partner with his calm and rational approach. As they investigate magical mysteries and crimes, they also hunt for the witch who placed a curse on Guideau. When they arrive at a city rumored to be home to a witch, they find the locals view her as a protector rather than a threat. Despite their assumption that witches inevitably bring chaos, Guideau and Ashaf must reconsider their perspective as they uncover the truth. One-shot included in Volume 6: "Majo no Kimagure" (Witch and Whim).

Background

Majo to Yajuu went on a two-month hiatus starting on January 22, 2023, due to the author's poor health. The hiatus was extended indefinitely after an official announcement on March 22, 2023. The series has been published in English as The Witch and the Beast by Kodansha USA since October 27, 2020. It has also been published in Italian by Panini Comics since February 16, 2023.
