Synopsis

Yusuke Urameshi is far from what anyone would call an angel—some might even say he leans toward the devilish side. However, when he dies in an accident while trying to save a child, he ends up in the Spirit World. The problem is that his name isn't in the Book of Enma, meaning his death was a complete mistake. So he's supposed to return to the living world, but first, he has to pass several tests and become a detective for the spiritual realm. Now Yusuke works in the Spirit World as a half-dead, half-alive agent for Koenma, the son of the Spirit World's ruler. This job has its drawbacks, especially when you're trying to enjoy summer vacation and Koenma gets kidnapped. So Yusuke has to put his summer fun on hold to find Koenma and trade the Golden Seal of King Enma for his life. But if anyone other than King Enma gets hold of the Golden Seal, chaos will erupt in the Spirit World. What's a half-dead spirit detective supposed to do? With help from his closest allies, Yusuke heads to Magma Valley to save the one who saved his life and uncover the mastermind behind this evil plot.
