During the annual Moon Festival at Totsuki Academy, a culinary contest where students aim to maximize profits from their dishes, Souma Yukihira spots an opportunity to challenge the Elite Ten, the school's governing council. However, this festival marks merely the beginning of Souma's clash with the Elite Ten. A sinister plot soon emerges, subjecting him to a critical trial while simultaneously endangering the very stability of the academy.

Following the Elite Ten's forceful takeover, Totsuki Culinary Academy plunges into a culinary dark age. Under Azami Nakiri's new leadership, the school mandates strict compliance with his vision of "true gourmet cuisine," stifling all creative expression and threatening expulsion for any dissent. Resolute in opposing this tyranny, Souma Yukihira unites with the Polar Star Dormitory residents and other rebellious first-years, including former tenth seat Erina Nakiri. As they confront Azami's loyalists, they face obstacles from corrupt instructors and the mysterious Central organization. To dismantle the schemes aimed at driving them out of the academy, Souma and his allies must forge closer bonds than ever before.
