Continues the story of The Rising of the Shield Hero Season 2
As the next Wave approaches, Naofumi Iwatani and his party are gripped by growing unease. Tensions spike when bat-like monsters attack Lurolona Village, halting the Wave countdown. To address this crisis, the Four Cardinal Heroes meet with Queen Mirelia Q Melromarc. She suspects these strange events are tied to the reawakening of the Spirit Tortoise, a dangerous beast that has begun its destructive rampage once more. While strategies to combat the Spirit Tortoise are drawn up, Naofumi volunteers to help, despite his damaged reputation.

In The Rising of the Shield Hero Season 3, despite halting the latest Wave of Catastrophe, Naofumi Iwatani, the Shield Hero, remains vigilant. Queen Mirelia Q Melromarc informs him of the sudden vanishing of the other three Cardinal Heroes and commands him to locate them. Lacking any leads on their whereabouts, Naofumi redirects his attention to combating the expanding demi-human slave trade. Resolved to put an end to this wrong, he and his party journey to Zeltoble, a mercenary territory where the illicit trafficking of demi-humans thrives. To raise the necessary funds for liberating the captives, Naofumi and his companions don disguises and compete in underground coliseum matches, intentionally losing bouts to manipulate the odds and secure a substantial reward. Yet, with the approaching danger of another Wave of Catastrophe, the Shield Hero must remain steadfast in his quest to find the missing heroes and safeguard those dear to him.
