Synopsis

Continues the story of Haikyuu!! the Movie: The Winner and the Loser

The Inter-High tournament has begun, and Karasuno High School's volleyball team faces their first challenge against Date Tech High School, the same team that defeated them last year. The memory of that loss, especially their failure to break through Date's powerful "read block," weighs heavily on the second and third-year players. With the addition of the talented first-year duo, Shouyou Hinata and Tobio Kageyama, Karasuno aims to overcome this psychological hurdle. As the tournament progresses, Karasuno meets Aoba Jousai High School, a powerhouse team led by the brilliant strategist Tooru Oikawa. Oikawa, who once played with Kageyama in middle school, is a gifted and volatile setter who holds deep resentment toward his former teammate. The clash between these two setter prodigies will determine which team advances in the Inter-High competition.

After the Inter-High tournament, the Karasuno High School volleyball team heads to Tokyo to take part in an intense training camp run by Nekoma High in hopes of revitalizing their performance. During the camp, Karasuno suffers many defeats at the hands of other schools. As they struggle to recover from these setbacks, each player fights to push past their own limits and improve their abilities. Shouyou Hinata and Tobio Kageyama, the setter and the ace, find themselves especially challenged by the mounting frustration. As Hinata refines his unique playstyle, his impulsive moves disrupt the rhythm of Kageyama's tosses, creating friction between the two partners. Seeking a way to resolve their issues, the pair receives unexpected advice from two surprising individuals. Will this fresh perspective be enough to help the team get back on track?
