Summary

Oikawa Tooru serves as the captain and setter for the Aoba Jousai High School Volleyball Club. He is a third-year student who previously attended Kitagawa Daiichi, where he was Kageyama’s senpai. While Kageyama describes him as a highly talented player, he also notes that Oikawa possesses a difficult personality. Oikawa often masks his true nature with cheerful remarks followed by serious or intimidating comments. Although he presents a flirtatious and carefree exterior, he is actually extremely intelligent and cunning, to the extent that his own teammates avoid befriending him because he easily identifies their weaknesses. He harbors a grudge against Kageyama, whom he mockingly addresses as Tobio-chan, stemming from feelings of inferiority regarding Kageyama’s reputation as a genius setter from their days at Kitagawa Daiichi. This rivalry can unintentionally trigger the more childish or rash sides of Oikawa’s character.
