The world is dominated by the Twilight. A war between humans and demons erupted 150 years ago, causing enormous human casualties as the mysterious Twilight phenomenon engulfed the world. Amidst this setting lives an ordinary boy. One day, unjustly abandoned by his party members, he is swallowed by the Twilight. Two years pass. Within the uninhabitable twilight, the boy struggles desperately to survive. Eventually, he returns to the barrier city, wielding the formidable abilities he gained in the Twilight. What lies ahead for him? Regardless, he presses onward, convinced that a blue sky awaits him beyond.

Tsuihou sareta Ochikobore, Henkyou de Ikinuite S-Rank Taimashi ni Nariagaru began as a web novel on Shousetsuka ni Narou under the title "Tasogare wo Kirisaku Hikari ni Naru: Tsuihou sareta Munou na Shounen wa Sekai Saikyou no Taimashi ni Itaru" (黄昏を切り裂く光になる〜追放された無能な少年は世界最強の対魔師に至る〜) on June 1, 2019. Hobby Japan has released a revised and illustrated version of the series since September 1, 2020 under its HJ Bunko label.
