Aspiring filmmaker Junpei Manaka’s first encounter with a mysterious girl in middle school was defined by strawberry-patterned underwear silhouetted against a sunset sky. Convinced the girl is his classmate Aya Toujou, he tries to get close to her so he can re‑create that skirt flip—for "artistic" purposes. But when he meets her the next day, she looks completely different from the image in his memory. Just as Junpei thinks he has to start over, he runs into the school’s idol, Tsukasa Nishino, who boldly announces she is wearing strawberry panties that day. Persuading himself that Tsukasa is the girl he has been hunting for, Junpei begins plotting his confession—all with the goal of becoming her boyfriend and filming her underwear.

Ichigo 100% was published in English as Strawberry 100% by VIZ Media under its Shonen Jump Advanced imprint from July 3, 2007, to October 5, 2010, up to the 14th volume. To promote the publication of manga in Germany, the series was released in German by Tokyopop from April 2006 to August 2009, in collaboration with VIZ Media and Shueisha. The manga was also published in Brazilian Portuguese by Panini Comics under its Planet Manga imprint from April 2010 to April 2013.
