In the massively multiplayer online role-playing game Elder Tales, thirty thousand players from Japan suddenly find themselves trapped inside the game's world, which has become their only reality. Cut off from their previous lives, they must face a realm filled with dangerous monsters, unappealing food, and the strange idea that death is not permanent. In the middle of this confusion, experienced player Shiroe teams up with his friends—the guardian Naotsugu and the assassin Akatsuki—to set out on a journey to change their new way of life.
