The narrative centers on an ordinary high school student, Kakeru Daichi, and a can of melon soda he purchases from a vending machine. The can unexpectedly transforms into a beautiful yet aloof girl, whom Kakeru dubs "Melon," and additional "Akikan" (empty can) girls start to emerge. These Akikan girls require carbon dioxide infusion to assume human form.
