In "Konosuba: God's Blessing on This Wonderful World!," Kazuma Satou leads a lonely existence as a NEET, known only for his love of video games. One day, thinking he has given his life to rescue a girl from a truck, he actually dies from shock caused by a slow-moving tractor. Waking up in a space between life and death, Kazuma encounters Aqua, a conceited goddess who presents him with two choices: go to heaven or travel to a fantasy world to fight the Demon King. Despite his initial hesitation about such a daunting task, Kazuma becomes interested when Aqua tells him he can bring one item from the afterlife. Selecting Aqua herself, Kazuma agrees to the proposal. But once they arrive in this new realm, Kazuma realizes Aqua is completely useless and that survival will be tough. The pair must manage their daily costs and find ways to improve their abilities, all while dealing with the troubles caused by their strange new companions.
