Fifty years ago, warriors wielding the sacred Rave stones fought against the malevolent Dark Bring, preventing a catastrophe through a massive explosion called "Overdrive." This blast not only put the Dark Bring into a slumber but also scattered the Rave fragments across the globe. In the present day, Haru Glory lives a peaceful life on Garage Island until one day, while fishing, he rescues a creature named Plue from the sea. Shiba Roses, an elderly man and the former Rave Master, identifies Plue and reveals that the Dark Bring has reawakened. Recovering the scattered Rave pieces is necessary to stop this threat. However, before Shiba can begin his mission, a soldier from the evil Demon Card organization attacks him, forcing Shiba to transfer the Rave power to Haru. With humanity's fate in his hands, the newly appointed Rave Master sets out on a journey to collect the dispersed Rave fragments.

Background

Rave was published in English by Tokyopop as Rave Master for 32 volumes from February 11, 2003 to February 10, 2009, until their license with Kodansha expired. Del Rey later gained the license and published the final three volumes in a single omnibus on May 24, 2011. Kodansha Comics USA digitally published the entire series in single volumes on October 3, 2017. It was also published in Spanish by Norma Editorial from February 2004 to February 2010.
