Set in 1863, a time of intense social upheaval, aspiring samurai from various backgrounds gather in Kyoto with the goal of joining the Mibu-Roshi, a group committed to staunchly supporting the Shogunate. This faction would later evolve into one of the most renowned and celebrated movements in Japanese history—the Shinsengumi. Into this turbulent setting arrives Seizaburou Kamiya, a young warrior eager to contribute to the Mibu-Roshi's cause and seek vengeance for his unjustly slain family, despite his limited combat skills. Souji Okita, one of the Mibu-Roshi's most skilled yet reckless swordsmen, takes Seizaburou under his guidance. Unbeknownst to everyone, including Souji, Seizaburou is actually a girl named Sei Tominaga in disguise. Additional one-shot: Volume 45: Ooedo Shinsengumi!
