Kamito Kazehaya, a sixteen-year-old boy who is the only male spirit elementaler in existence, finds himself forced to enroll at Areishia Spirit Academy. There, he meets other young spirit contractors, including the fiery-haired Claire Rouge, who demands that Kamito become her contracted humanoid spirit. Still, Kamito stays focused on his true goal: reclaiming his former partner, Restia Ashdoll.
