Yamagishi and Sendo attend the same school, but that's where their similarities end: one is a short, no-nonsense boxer, while the other is a tall, bookish conspiracy theorist. When they get caught up in a paranormal event at school involving plant-faced monster people that absorb innocent victims, they realize they'll have to put their differences aside and cooperate as best they can. Of course, it doesn't help that the only person with any explanation for this bizarre situation is a mysterious "paranormal investigator" named Akisato, who insists they must find some kind of "key" to stop everything—before giant insects and other supernatural threats from the world "beyond" reach them first.
