In "Chocomimi," Choco Sakurai—also called Chiyoko—and Mimi Nekota share an unbreakable bond despite their clashing temperaments. Choco is diligent and focused on her studies, whereas Mimi is fanciful and inventive. Both are crazy about fashion and always aim to look adorable. Their time in junior high school is shared with their pals Ryunosuke "Andrew" Ando, Komei Mikami, Mumu Momoyama, and Kojika "Bambi" Mori. Each of these six people brings a distinct viewpoint on romance, schoolwork, and existence.

Background

Chokomimi was partially published in English as Chocomimi by VIZ Media, who published the first five volumes from July 7, 2009 to November 2, 2010, under the VIZ Kids imprint, before the license was dropped. The series went on hiatus in the September 2019 issue of Ribon due to Sonoda's health. She later died from breast cancer on August 4, 2019, ending the series' publication in the same issue.
