Seishuu Handa is a calligraphy prodigy, but his arrogance leads to a conflict with an elderly curator who dismisses his celebrated work as unoriginal and uninspired. This outburst threatens Handa's promising future. After an incident reveals his son's immaturity, Handa's father—a renowned calligrapher—sends him to a remote village in the Goto Islands as a form of discipline. Cut off from city conveniences, Handa moves into a local house, planning to focus solely on calligraphy practice. However, the house was previously used by a group of lively children, including Naru Kotoishi, who refuse to leave. Additionally, the curious villagers treat Handa as a source of amusement and entertainment. Though removed from his familiar environment, Handa's interactions with the village and its residents begin teaching him valuable lessons about personal growth, life, and the true nature of calligraphy.
