Continues the story of Handa-kun
Believing that everyone despises him, Sei Handa navigates his high school life as a lone figure. Unbeknownst to him, he is actually the most adored student at school, celebrated for his exceptional calligraphy, good looks, and calm demeanor. A series of persistent misunderstandings leads Handa to perceive the admiration of his numerous fans as harassment, prompting the school's idol to withdraw from his peers. Yet, his attempts to remain isolated do nothing to diminish their devotion; instead, they often have the opposite effect, turning even the skeptics into loyal followers. From fashion models to solitary tough kids, obsessive fans to others, none can resist the charm of Sei Handa.

In Barakamon, Seishuu Handa is a talented and handsome calligrapher whose ego rivals his skill. After a renowned master criticizes his acclaimed work for lacking originality, Seishuu loses his temper and faces serious repercussions. To teach him humility and foster his artistic growth, his father sends him to the remote Goto Islands, far from the comforts of Tokyo. While Seishuu hopes to find fresh inspiration and develop a unique style in this rural setting, his efforts are constantly interrupted by the island's vibrant residents. From Naru Kotoishi, the energetic leader of the local children, to gossipy middle school girls and outgoing elderly men, everyone seems determined to invade his space. As the newest member of this close-knit and eccentric Goto community, Seishuu initially seeks only quiet and solitude to focus on his craft. However, his intrusive neighbors, who show little regard for personal boundaries, ultimately teach him unexpected lessons.
