Handa, Emi

Summary

Emi serves as the wife of Seimei and the mother of Seishuu. At first, she strongly resists Seishuu’s desire to reside on the island, unable to accept that he is maturing and pulling away from his parents. However, she eventually relents and grants her approval after witnessing the contentment he finds in assisting the residents of Nanatsutake village. She frequently notes the striking resemblance between Seishuu and Seimei, often stepping in to mediate when their shared stubbornness leads to conflict or when they struggle to resolve their differences. During a visit from Seishuu and Naru, Emi develops a fondness for Naru, much to Seishuu’s chagrin, as she eagerly shares his baby photos with her. Additionally, Emi is skilled at delivering double-edged compliments, a trait particularly evident in her clashes with Kirie.
