In "Senryuu Shoujo," Nanako Yukishiro is a typically cheerful and cute high school girl who communicates only through senryuu, a form of haiku with a 5-7-5 syllable structure, instead of speaking verbally. Her school life is lively with friends like the reformed former delinquent Eiji Busujima, the single and somewhat obsessive club president Amane Katagiri, the shy but talkative artist Kino Yakobe, the enigmatic Tao Hanakai, and Koto Ootsuki, who calls herself Eiji's "big sister." Together, they make each day at school especially fun for Nanako.
