Summary

Born in Kyoto on February 19, 1974, Subaru is the younger fraternal twin of a girl named Hokuto. He hails from the Sumeragi, a lineage of onmyouji who have served Japan and its emperors for centuries. His parents remain unseen figures in his story. Trained from a young age to succeed his grandmother as the 13th head of the clan, Subaru was separated from his sister for a year of intensive training in Tokyo when he was nine. On the day he officially ascended to lead the Sumeragi, he met a mysterious young man beneath a cherry tree. This encounter was later erased from his memory. Following this event, his grandmother compelled him to wear gloves at all times, casting a spell to prevent anyone else from removing them. Subaru complied, keeping the gloves on even while sleeping, and never revealed his hands to anyone.
