Synopsis

As the thirteenth head of a distinguished onmyouji family, Subaru Sumeragi resides in Tokyo alongside his fraternal twin, Hokuto. Subaru is quiet and reserved, while Hokuto is energetic and exuberant, often designing striking outfits for both of them. She also wishes to bring Subaru closer to their veterinarian friend, Seishirou Sakurazuka, who repeatedly appears wherever the Sumeragi twins happen to be. Subaru regularly handles spiritual disturbances in Tokyo, either at a client's behest or due to his own concern. Known for his self-sacrificing nature, he takes on the suffering of others, leaving him exposed in a city filled with self-centered people. Hokuto believes that falling in love with Seishirou could give Subaru a personal bond he would not discard for others. Yet it remains uncertain whether Seishirou is truly suitable for Subaru, or if he conceals hidden truths.

Background

The anime was originally supposed to premiere in April 2021. However, after plagiarism of costume designs was discovered it was delayed to an indefinite time. After even more plagiarism was discovered, the production team chose to suspend production in March 2021 and restart from the ground up with new staff at a later date.
