The Law of Ueki

Synopsis

A hidden tournament is underway to decide the next ruler of the Heavenly Realm, with 100 beings called "God Candidates" each choosing a middle school student on Earth to receive their powers. These chosen kids fight on behalf of their God Candidates, and the winner receives the "Blank Talent," which lets them pick any special ability, while their God Candidate becomes the "God" and master of the Heavenly Realm. Kousuke Ueki, a regular middle schooler, is chosen by his homeroom teacher, Kobayashi, and given the ability to turn garbage into trees. Despite concerns from his classmate Ai Mori, Ueki decides to use this power according to his own sense of justice, noticing how others misuse their abilities for selfish reasons. When he faces strong opponents like Seiichirou Sano, Rinko Jerrard, Robert Haydn, and Hideyoshi Soya, Ueki understands that the challenge ahead is much bigger than he first thought.
