Summary
Hideyoshi Soya is a male character born on May 5 with type O blood. He possesses the unique ability to transform voices into portraits, which can then release the captured sounds, provided he bends his fingers or toes. A power user encountered by Ueki and Mori, Soya relies on deception, employing novelty gags like the soy sauce bomber during combat. He is also responsible for looking after a group of children at the Sun House. His first King of the Celestial World Candidate was Nero, a benevolent heavenly being who preferred helping humans over ruling the Celestial World. Soya offered to become gifted so Nero could remain on Earth longer, but Nero was sent to Hell after intervening in a fight to assist Soya. Soya later received a new candidate named Zack, whom he despises for his jerkish behavior and desire to ally with a group of malicious power users. Despite his occasional cowardice, Soya agrees to aid Ueki with the promise of rescuing Nero. When he executes sneak attacks using his power, he can be a formidable opponent. Soya has utilized his abilities creatively, such as placing portraits on Sano's towels to unleash sonic attacks against Team Marylin. His capacity to weaponize opponents' voices, combined with his deceptive tricks, makes it difficult for his foes to anticipate his moves.
