Synopsis
In "Firefly Wedding," Satoko, the eldest daughter of the prestigious Kirigaya family, has turned down many marriage proposals because of a secret heart condition. Still, she wishes to marry in order to relieve her father's worries. One day while out walking, Satoko is taken captive by a band of mercenaries. Among them is Shinpei Gotou, a notorious assassin hired to kill her. Attempting to buy her freedom, Satoko tries to bribe Gotou, but her efforts prove useless. In desperation, she comes up with a plan to pretend she has fallen in love at first sight and suggests they get married. To her astonishment, Gotou accepts and promises to keep her safe. As they escape together, Satoko struggles to keep up her act and to understand the enigmatic man with whom she now shares her destiny.
