david production Locks Firefly Wedding for Oct. 9 Noitamina Debut

Studio david production—the house behind JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure—is gearing up for one of fall’s most anticipated historical romances. The official site for Firefly Wedding (Hotaru no Yomeiri) has locked the series to Friday, October 9 at 11:30 p.m. on Fuji TV’s Noitamina block, and dropped a second teaser PV to match.

The new promo also expands the cast: Kent Itō joins as Satoko’s childhood bodyguard Kōtarō Ogawa, while veteran Kenjirō Tsuda voices Mitsueda, the yakuza fixer who sets the story’s deadly bargain in motion. They join previously announced leads Lynn (Satoko Kirigaya) and Kōki Uchiyama (assassin Shinpei Gotō).

On the production side, Takahiro Kamei (Urusei Yatsura 2022) directs at david production, with Yūko Kakihara handling series composition and scripts, Yukiko Aikei on character design, and NOGRID scoring the series. Singer-songwriter TOOBOE contributes the ending theme “Yumegokochi,” which gets a full preview in the teaser.

Adapted from Oreko Tachibana’s MangaONE hit (licensed in English by Viz/Comikey), the story follows a frail noblewoman who offers marriage to the hitman hired to kill her—if he will protect her instead. With the air date set and the studio’s team fully public, Firefly Wedding is now one of Noitamina’s clearest fall 2026 tentpoles.
