Synopsis
Even after death, life is still filled with paperwork and criminals. Tsuzuki Asato is a cheerful, somewhat goofy 26-year-old shinigami tasked with ensuring the dead stay dead and remain in their proper realms. Despite holding this job for over 70 years, he works in the worst division with meager pay. He also has a habit of driving away partners—shinigami are required to work in pairs—but he may finally have found one who sticks: the stubborn, sharp-tongued, serious, and defensive 16-year-old Kurosaki Hisoka. As they investigate each case, they draw closer to uncovering the conspiracies surrounding serial killer Dr. Muraki Kazutaka. Tsuzuki's bond with Hisoka grows stronger and more intimate, yet a dark secret about how Tsuzuki died continues to haunt him, refusing to let him find peace.
