Synopsis
Continues the story of Blue Exorcist: Beyond the Snow Saga
The global rise in demonic activity, driven by the Illuminati’s malevolent actions, forces the Vatican Headquarters to move up the schedule for the annual Exorcist Certification Exam, aiming to recruit more exorcists. Arriving directly from the Vatican, Lewin "Lightning" Light, one of the most formidable exorcists, comes to True Cross Academy to help prepare the students for the exam. His exceptional skill and ease in performing exorcisms reignite Ryuuji "Bon" Suguro’s motivation, which had previously waned, and unexpectedly, Lewin takes Bon on as an apprentice. Amid the escalating crisis, Rin and Yukio Okumura, twin brothers, are sent to search for the missing exorcist Shura Kirigakure. Shura is believed to be bound by an ancient contract with a powerful, immortal demon, hiding deep within the treacherous, snow-covered mountains of Aomori Prefecture.

In "Blue Exorcist: The Blue Night Saga," Rin Okumura has consistently avoided learning about his parentage and origins, in stark contrast to his twin, Yukio. Mephisto Pheles, the master of time, presents Rin with a key that sends him forty years into the past, to when his deceased mother, Yuri Frederick Egin, was still a young girl. Under Mephisto's guidance, Rin follows Yuri throughout her childhood and adolescence as she becomes a trained exorcist. During his journey through the past, Rin comes across Shirou Fujimoto, the man who will eventually adopt both him and Yukio. By observing Yuri and Shirou's lives, Rin sees the first manifestations of Satan, his biological father, and the disturbing events taking place inside the elite Section 13 of the True Cross Order. Yuri's deep emotional and spiritual link to Satan drives Rin to uncover the secrets behind the most catastrophic event in exorcist history and the critical day of his and Yukio's birth—the Blue Night.
