Synopsis
Tezuka vs. Atobe The Kanto Regionals begin with a Singles 1 showdown between Hyoutei Academy and Seishun Academy, placing captains Kunimitsu Tezuka and Keigo Atobe in direct opposition. Both display fierce resolve, and Seishun's tournament fate rests on their captain's performance. Determined to stop Hyoutei from an early exit, Atobe aims to capitalize on Tezuka's weaknesses to claim victory. Inui-Kaidou vs. Shishido-Ootori / Oishi-Kikumaru vs. Niou-Yagyuu Filled with renewed spirit, Sadaharu Inui and Kaoru Kaidou join forces as Seishun's fresh doubles pairing, taking on Hyoutei's Ryou Shishido and Choutarou Ootori. Before the match, Inui suggests merging their techniques to exceed their current limits. Meanwhile, Shishido, recently restored as a regular, is set on proving himself through an uncompromising win. Seishun's celebrated "Golden Pair," Shuichiro Oishi and Eiji Kikumaru, face off against Rikkai University-Affiliated Middle School's Masaharu Niou and Hiroshi Yagyuu in the Kanto Regional Finals. Though they get off to a strong start, Oishi and Kikumaru face mounting obstacles as Niou and Yagyuu use strategic tactics to make their path harder. As the two Seishun players contend with their rivals, the history of their partnership comes to light. Fuji vs. Kirihara In the Singles 2 match of the Kanto Regional Finals, Seishun's "Genius" Shuusuke Fuji battles Rikkai's second-year prodigy Akaya Kirihara. Kirihara boldly claims he will finish the match in 13 minutes, drawing scorn from Fuji. As the game drags on, Kirihara grows more aggressive, forcing Fuji to quickly modify his approach to neutralize his opponent.
Background
In celebration of the 20th anniversary of the Tennis no Oujisama franchise, three of the most popular matchups in the series, as voted by fans, were reanimated. Each episode had a limited two-week screening in theaters before they were released on Blu-Ray and DVD.
