In this installment, Lupin takes center stage against the backdrop of Italy and San Marino. Following its geographical theme, the anime made its debut in Italy prior to airing in Japan. Fans of Lupin III will notice a change in his attire, as he now sports a blue jacket, differing from his previous ensembles including green (from the first series and certain OVAs), red (featured in the second series, most films, and TV specials), and pink (from the third series).

Set in modern-day France, master thief Arsene Lupin III begins a fresh series of adventures with his loyal companions Goemon Ishikawa XIII, Fujiko Mine, and Daisuke Jigen. They come across familiar foes and new opponents, while Inspector Kouichi Zenigata relentlessly pursues them. The group goes after evil organizations, navigating the challenges of cutting-edge technology and facing lingering problems from their history. But this time, Lupin's earlier deeds catch up with him as his hunters use every method available to finally catch him.
