Synopsis
Continues the story of Black Butler: Public School Arc
Responding to Queen Victoria's request, Earl Ciel Phantomhive enrolls at Weston College, a renowned all-boys public school known for its traditions and academic excellence, to locate a missing royal family member who vanished several months ago. Leveraging his noble status, the young thirteen-year-old Ciel gains admission as a student, with his demonic butler, Sebastian Michaelis, assuming a teaching position. Upon arrival, Ciel is surprised to find no trace of the Queen's relative within the school grounds. Additionally, securing an audience with the headmaster, potentially the only person aware of the disappearance, proves challenging. The headmaster's closest associates are the dormitory leaders known as the Prefect 4 (P4), comprising Edgar Redmond, Lawrence Bluewer, Herman Greenhill, and Gregory Violet. In order to accomplish his objective, Ciel devises plans to win over the P4 members and exploit their influence. However, the esteemed institution and its students harbor numerous concealed secrets, making his task much more complex than initially expected.
In this installment
In *Black Butler: Emerald Witch Arc*, Queen Victoria tasks 13-year-old Earl Ciel Phantomhive with investigating a string of strange deaths in southern Germany. The victims, all of whom entered the Werewolves' Forest, suffered bizarre physical mutations and died. Local belief attributes these incidents to a "witch's curse," rooted in old folklore. Skeptical of any real supernatural cause, Ciel, along with his demon butler Sebastian Michaelis and the rest of the Phantomhive household staff, discovers a secluded village deep in the forest. The community consists only of women, hostile to outsiders, who worship a young girl named Sieglinde "Green Witch" Sullivan, known for her emerald eyes and bound feet. As Ciel and Sebastian dig deeper for the truth, they fall under the same curse, suggesting the village's legends may be more real than they initially thought.
