Summary

Elizabeth Midford, who insists on being called Lizzie, is Ciel’s cousin and fiancée. She is the daughter of Frances, Ciel’s aunt, and Marquis Midford. Lizzie has known Ciel since they were children, and the pair shared a close bond back then. However, Ciel has kept the truth about his parents’ deaths and his subsequent disappearance hidden from her. Rather than pressing him for details, Lizzie accepts his silence and continues to strive for their former closeness. Her determination is such that she once ran away from home to visit Ciel, defying the fearsome reputation of her mother, the Marchioness, who seems to be the only person in the series Lizzie does not fear. Although their engagement is a secret, Ciel’s deep care for her is evident when he throws himself in front of an attacking bear to protect her. Lizzie is strong-willed and cheerful, with a penchant for cute things. Her hobby, which often exasperates Ciel, is making everything and everyone cute. This includes decorating the mansion with hearts and sparkly bunnies or dressing elderly men in gowns, claiming it is reminiscent of Marie Antoinette. While she is forceful and stubborn, she feels immense guilt if she goes too far and upsets someone, sometimes even crying over her mistakes. Despite her unrealistic fairytale vision of her relationship with Ciel, she genuinely cares for him, though she has yet to figure out the best way to express her affection.
