Summary
John Brown serves as Queen Victoria's aide, a role that involves clarifying matters on her behalf and attempting to lift her spirits. He maintains an extremely serious demeanor, even keeping a straight face while impersonating Prince Albert through a hand puppet. Although he takes pride in his explanations, he never assumes control or overrides the Queen's speech. He endures physical abuse from her quietly without complaint, such as when she had a horse step on his head to silence him. In the original anime, his role is filled by Ash. The character is based on the real-life servant of Queen Victoria, who was one of her favorites.
