Illustrator Shikidouji, recognized for their contributions to Shoji Gatoh's Full Metal Panic! light novels, has announced that a "director's cut" edition of the 2002 Full Metal Panic!! TV anime series has been approved. This special version is set to be distributed as a three-film series. Whether these movies will include any newly animated footage is still uncertain.
