Continues the story of Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045

In 2045, the rapid evolution of artificial intelligence has transformed society, as governments rely on AI-driven continuous warfare to sustain their economies. Major Motoko Kusanagi leads the mercenary group GHOST, navigating this intricate environment. However, the swift advancement of AI introduces a new danger. After leaving Public Security Section 9, Kusanagi and her team carry out various global missions tied to these proxy conflicts. A routine assignment to track down an arms dealer thrusts GHOST into a covert struggle against cybernetically enhanced individuals with extraordinary intellectual and physical capabilities. Known as "post-humans," these beings trigger a series of events that lead to the reformation of Section 9. With a fresh objective, Kusanagi and her reassembled unit must prevent the post-humans from triggering worldwide chaos.

In 2045, the world is reeling from the aftermath of the Global Simultaneous Default, an economic catastrophe that shattered global stability, alongside the rapid advancement of artificial intelligence. This era is defined by the Sustainable War, a prolonged conflict engineered to persist indefinitely. Despite these challenges, the looming threat posed by advanced AI remains largely overlooked by the general public. To address the cybercrimes perpetrated by the emerging Posthuman faction, Public Security Section 9, led by full-body cyborg Kusanagi Motoko, travels to Tokyo, a city scarred by previous conflicts. There, they encounter a refugee group called "N" and clash with a hostile U.S. Special Forces team. As tensions escalate over a potential nuclear crisis involving a hijacked submarine, the rivalry among Section 9, the United States, and the Posthumans intensifies.
