Sukeban Deka Hits English at Last: Omoi Locks Exclusive + 54 Kodansha Titles

Digital manga service Omoi just dropped a double headline at its Otakon 2026 panel: the long-awaited English-language debut of Shinji Wada’s Delinquent Detective: Sukeban Deka, exclusive to the Omoi Manga Reader this fall, plus a wave of 54 Kodansha series arriving for volume purchase.

Wada’s Hana to Yume crime classic (1976–1982) follows incarcerated high-school outlaw Saki Asamiya, who cuts a deal with police to go undercover at elite schools—steel yo-yo in hand—so her mother can avoid the gallows. The series powered 1980s live-action hits and still echoes in modern action manga (including the spirit of Kill la Kill). English readers have never had the original in full until now.

Alongside the exclusive, Omoi is stocking a deep Kodansha bench. Early volumes of six titles are already live, among them After the Rain, Blood on the Tracks, Dororo, Nichijō, Paradise Kiss, and Welcome to Demon School!
