Synopsis
The land of the greedy samurai lord Daigo Kagemitsu is withering, and he will stop at nothing to gain power—even renouncing Buddha and forging a pact with demons. Twelve demons answer his prayers, granting him the strength he craves to develop his domain, but at a cost. When Kagemitsu's first son is born, the infant lacks limbs, a nose, eyes, ears, and even skin—yet he somehow survives. The child is cast into a river and forgotten. However, fate intervenes when a medicine man rescues him, fitting him with prosthetics and weapons so he can survive and defend himself. The boy grows up, and though he cannot see, hear, or feel anything, he must slay the demons that took his body parts as tribute. With each demon's death, he reclaims a piece of himself that is rightfully his. He wanders alone for many years until he meets an orphan boy named Dororo, who becomes his friend. This unlikely pair of outcasts now struggles for survival and their humanity in a merciless world overrun by demons.
