Synopsis

Continues the story of Magia Record: Puella Magi Madoka Magica Side Story

According to rumor, a young girl can make a contract with a white creature to have her dearest wish come true. In return, she becomes a magical girl, forced to fight monstrous witches that prey on humans. In Takarazaki City, middle school student Iroha Tamaki discovers that these stories are real. Armed with a magical crossbow and the power to heal, she hunts witches and destroys them in their hidden labyrinths. Yet she cannot remember what her own wish was—and even Kyuubey, the strange white being, claims to have no idea what she asked for. One evening while riding a train, Iroha catches sight of a city called Kamihama, where it is said "magical girls can be saved." She goes there and quickly learns that the witches in that place are far more dangerous. After veteran magical girl Yachiyo Nanami rescues her, Iroha promises never to return. But a chance meeting with a tiny Kyuubey stirs faint memories, and despite the danger, she finds herself drawn back into the mysterious city.

After a risky escape from the Memory Museum, Sayaka Miki heads back to Mitakihara City, bringing alarming news with her. She reveals to Madoka Kaname and Homura Akemi the whereabouts of Mami Tomoe and also uncovers the harsh truth about the fate of magical girls. Realizing the grim future that awaits them, the three decide to work together to save Mami once and for all. Meanwhile, in Kamihama City, Yachiyo Nanami investigates various "rumors" to find Hotel Fendt Hope, the headquarters of the Wings of Magius. This group is Yachiyo's only lead on the disappearance of Iroha Tamaki. Determined to reunite Team Mikazuki Villa, Yachiyo is set on dismantling the Wings of Magius and stopping their evil plans. As these events unfold, a perilous threat arises, posing a grave risk of plunging the whole world into a severe conflict.

Magia Record: Mahou Shoujo Madoka☆Magica Gaiden 2nd Season - Kakusei Zenya is based on the 2017 mobile game Magia Record: Puella Magi Madoka Magica [Side Story]. The series was released on Blu-ray and DVD in three volumes from November 24, 2021 to January 26, 2022.
