Synopsis

According to whispers, if a young girl makes a pact with a white fairy, it will fulfill any wish she desires. In return, she becomes a magical girl and must risk her life to defeat terrifying and vicious witches. Iroha Tamaki, a gentle middle schooler from Takarazaki City, proves these tales are real. Armed with a magical crossbow and the power to heal wounds, Iroha searches for the labyrinths where witches lurk and eliminates them before they can attack humans. However, Iroha cannot recall her wish, and even Kyuubey, the white fairy himself, seems unaware of what she asked for. One day, Iroha hears about a city where "magical girls can be saved," and finds herself boarding a train to Kamihama City at sunset. Unfortunately, she learns that the witches there are significantly stronger than usual. After veteran magical girl Yachiyo Nanami is forced to rescue her, Iroha swears never to return. But when a chance meeting with a tiny Kyuubey seems to stir faint memories, Iroha feels compelled to explore the mysterious city despite the peril.

Following a daring breakout from the Memory Museum, Sayaka Miki returns to Mitakihara City bearing disturbing revelations. She shares with Madoka Kaname and Homura Akemi the location of Mami Tomoe, but also exposes the grim reality behind the existence of magical girls. Aware of the tragic destiny awaiting them, the trio agrees to collaborate in order to rescue Mami for good. Simultaneously, in Kamihama City, Yachiyo Nanami pursues various "rumors" to locate Hotel Fendt Hope, the base of the Wings of Magius. This organization is her sole clue regarding the disappearance of Iroha Tamaki. Eager to restore Team Mikazuki Villa, Yachiyo vows to dismantle the Wings of Magius and halt their sinister schemes. Amidst these chaotic events, a catastrophic danger emerges, threatening to plunge the entire world into a dire conflict.

Magia Record: Mahou Shoujo Madoka☆Magica Gaiden 2nd Season - Kakusei Zenya is based on the 2017 mobile game Magia Record: Puella Magi Madoka Magica [Side Story]. The series was released on Blu-ray and DVD in three volumes from November 24, 2021 to January 26, 2022.
