Matsuri sees ayakashi as inherently dangerous and aims to shield Suzu from them, while Suzu yearns to remain connected to the ayakashi. Their relationship is tested when they encounter Shirogane, the formidable "King of Ayakashi," intent on consuming Suzu. In a desperate attempt to save her, Matsuri successfully seals Shirogane’s powers, but not before the ayakashi retaliates by transforming Matsuri into a girl. The official website announced that an OVA of Itsuka Tenma no Kuro Usagi would be bundled with the ninth volume of the novel. This OVA is an animated crossover combining Itsu-Ten with the fantasy story The Legend of the Legendary Heroes (Densetsu no Yuusha no Densetsu or DenYuuDen).
