Tokyo Designer Gakuin alumnus and former animator at studios Junio and Gainax. He has a very close relationship with Yoh Yoshinari. In 2004 he was selected by then Shaft president Mitsutoshi Kubota to be a member to "Team Shinbo", a group consisting of himself, Shin Oonuma, and Akiyuki Shinbo.
