Long ago, the kingdom of Kouka was ruled by a red dragon who took human form. Alongside him were four warriors, each bearing dragon blood, who helped usher in an era of prosperity. With time, this tale became nothing more than a children’s fable.
Yona, the sole princess of Kouka, lives a life of luxury and ease. She cherishes her cousin, Su-won, and is protected by her guardian, Son Hak. However, she remains oblivious to the hardships that lie beyond the castle walls. Her idyllic world comes crashing down when Su-won orchestrates a violent coup and slays her father. Fleeing for her life, Yona escapes with Hak as her sole companion.
Despite facing countless foes, the exiled princess is resolute in her desire to save her homeland. A banished priest reveals to her that the only hope for restoring order lies in locating the four legendary dragon warriors. Inspired by this seemingly fantastical quest, Yona sets out on a journey to find these warriors, driven by her determination to reclaim her rightful place as ruler of Kouka.
