Choco Sakurai (Chiyoko) and Mimi Nekota are close friends whose personalities couldn't be more different. Choco is diligent and dedicated to her studies, whereas Mimi is indulged and full of creative flights of fancy. Even so, they both share a love for fashion and a strong wish to look adorable. Joining them as they navigate junior high school are their companions: Ryunosuke "Andrew" Ando, Komei Mikami, Mumu Momoyama, and Kojika "Bambi" Mori. These six each bring their own distinctive approach to romance, school, and life in general.

Background

Chokomimi was partially published in English as Chocomimi by VIZ Media, who published the first five volumes from July 7, 2009 to November 2, 2010, under the VIZ Kids imprint, before the license was dropped. The series went on hiatus in the September 2019 issue of Ribon due to Sonoda's health. She later died from breast cancer on August 4, 2019, ending the series' publication in the same issue.
